Terms of Service

These Terms govern access to and use of Lampion, a managed PostgreSQL platform hosted in France, published by Lampion SAS (see the legal notice).

Creating an account constitutes unreserved acceptance of these Terms.

Creating an account requires a valid email address, which you must confirm. You warrant the accuracy of the information provided and undertake to keep it up to date.

You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity carried out from your account. Notify us without delay of any unauthorised use.

An account is personal. Sharing credentials between people is prohibited: each member of an organization has their own account.

Lampion provides managed PostgreSQL instances, with instant branching, point-in-time recovery, automatic suspend, a web console and programmatic interfaces.

Available features depend on the plan. Lampion may evolve the service; removal of any substantial feature is announced at least 30 days in advance.

You may not use the service for:

• any unlawful activity or activity infringing third-party rights;
• hosting or distributing manifestly unlawful content;
• sending unsolicited email, phishing, or distributing malware;
• crypto-asset mining, or any use diverting compute resources from their purpose;
• any attempt at unauthorised access, or at circumventing quotas, rate limits or organization isolation;
• automated creation of accounts or organizations in order to exceed free plan limits.

Penetration testing against Lampion infrastructure requires our prior written agreement.

The free plan is provided without any availability commitment and within the quotas shown on the pricing page: number of projects, branches, computes and included storage.

Resources on a free account left inactive for an extended period may be suspended and then deleted, after prior notice by email.

You remain the sole owner of the data you store. Lampion acquires no rights over it and does not access it, except at your explicit request for technical assistance, or where legally required.

You can export your data at any time in standard PostgreSQL formats. The privacy policy and the DPA set out the processing and its safeguards.

You are responsible for the lawfulness of the data you process and, where applicable, for having a legal basis to do so.

Lampion uses reasonable means to ensure continuity of service. Quantified availability commitments apply to the plans that provide for them, under the conditions of the pricing page.

Scheduled maintenance is announced in advance. Emergency work may take place without notice where security or service integrity requires it.

You may delete your account at any time from the console.

Lampion may suspend or terminate an account in the event of breach of these Terms, non-payment, or use compromising the security or stability of the service. Except in emergencies or manifest unlawfulness, prior formal notice is given with a reasonable period to remedy.

On termination, your data is deleted within the periods set out in the privacy policy. You can export it beforehand during that period.

Lampion is bound by an obligation of means. It cannot be held liable for indirect damages, in particular loss of business, revenue or customers.

For paid plans, Lampion's liability is capped at the amounts actually paid during the twelve months preceding the triggering event. The free service is provided without warranty.

Backups remain your responsibility. The recovery features Lampion provides do not remove the need to keep your own exports.

Nothing in these Terms limits Lampion's liability in case of gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or personal injury.

Lampion may amend these Terms. Any substantial change is notified by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that date constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by French law.

In the event of a dispute, the parties will seek an amicable solution. Failing that, jurisdiction is granted to the courts of [TO BE COMPLETED], subject to mandatory consumer protection rules.
